Steve’s Pre-match Report

   Like their senior mates Furness 2nds welcome Millom 2nds to the Strawberry Grounds for a Cumbrian double header. Selection will depend on the senior squad having first dibs at, what should be, a full and strong Furness squad. Usual favourites will don the Furness blue; Charlie Martin, Adam McClarnon, Alan Gwynne and Stu Hudson will be amongst them.

   Millom are flying high in the league sitting in third position and will start as favourites over a Furness side lying tenth. Furness will, however, take comfort from home advantage. The excellence of the University of Salford league means that there is always something to play for and it inspires teams to play open and entertaining rugby. Furness versus Millom seconds will be a good advert for the UOS league and will be an interesting escape for those who can’t stand the tension of the first teams. Like the seniors the kick off is 2:15.
